PABLO CATALÃO

Pablo Catalão is a Brazilian-Portuguese pianist and composer, currently studying at the Musik Akademie Basel. Until recently his education has been primarily focused in piano performance. However, after finishing his Master’s degree in Piano Performance, his interests and focus have turned to composition. His musical background is marked by different cultures; having lived in Brazil, Portugal, Belgium and Switzerland. Catalão’s musical perception is, on one hand, influenced by his Brazilian background and familial roots, where fine arts have always played a significant role, and on the other hand, by his Christian faith.

Currently, he is continuing his studies at the Akademie in composition with Caspar Johannes Walter, and piano under Ronald Brautigan.
