Anish Kapoor, Blood Cinema, 2000, private property, (c) ANISH KAPOOR. DACS 2017.

Premiere: 20.01.2018 Muzeum Historii Żydów Polskich POLIN in Warszawa

The form of the concert-performance “The Hourglass Bleeds Still” refers directly to the concept of the POLIN exhibition: “Blood. Uniting and Dividing.” The works presented are from the most eminent composers of recent years (F.Romitelli, Ch.Czernowin, Y.Klartag), which lie on the border of musical genres and are not easily definable. The performance is further enriched with a video layer, which is an integral part of the venue. This combination represents a whole, becoming a spectacle of emotions in the aspect of symbolic blood, with related musical, visual, and abstract associations. The highest quality of the event is also ensured by the performers themselves: the outstanding musicians of the international Delirium Ensemble are centered around the figure of the conductor Wiktor Kociuban, who also composed the original concept of this exceptional undertaking.
